ST. LOUIS (KMOX) – The Missouri State Highway Patrol has released statistics regarding the Fourth of July holiday weekend.
The patrol says 10 people were killed in traffic crashes in Missouri. There were 140 injuries in the 305 crashes the patrol worked.
There was one St. Louis-area fatality – 45-year-old Charles Meyer of St. Louis was killed July 3 in a crash in Franklin County.
Last year, nine people died over the July 4th holiday in traffic accidents.
The patrol says they made 127 arrests for driving while intoxicated.
There were no boating fatalities or drownings. However, 17 people were arrested for boating while intoxicated.
Last year, there were two boating fatalities, and four people drowned.
